EMERGENCY PLAN POLICY

11 An emergency plan documents the purpose and scope for situations when the employee/subcontractor is in an environment or situation that is deemed as threatening or may lead to one’s harm.

If the employee or subcontractor identifies that the participant is under the influence of drugs or alcohol and the participant is acting irrationally, they are required to call the case manager for further instructions.

If the participant is injured or deceased, it is a strict protocol to call 000 before contacting anyone else.

If the employee/subcontractor is uncomfortable in certain circumstances, it is advisable to distance yourself from the participant and call the case manager at once.

11.1 PROTOCOL FOR CALLING CASE MANAGER

If the situation does not allow you to explain the circumstances to your case manager, in that situation the employee or the subcontractor is required to use a code.

Code: "I FORGOT TO BRING THE RED FOLDER"

The case manager will immediately prompt you with a series of YES or NO questions as outlined below.

Do you feel threatened?

Do you want me to come and get you?

Do you want me to call 000?

For all the situations outlined above, the employee/subcontractor is required to fill in the incident report form.
